Wireless Sensor Networks

Researchers at ESL develop wireless strain, gas, temperature and heat flux sensors for aircraft turbine engines.

Research highlights include:
  • Sensor technology based on Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) devices
  • Operational at high temperature and harsh environments
  • Nanofabrication via Electron Beam Lithography
  • TDM and FDM techniques are employed to communicate 100s of sensors.
